Biggest change to nuclear regulation in British history

LFG organised a co-ordinated national response and gathered over 50 leading CEOs, entrepreneurs and experts to demand the Government ACCEPT ALL the Nuclear Review recommendations.

Over 700 LFG supporters sign the letter and write to their MPs demanding that they pressure the Government to ACCEPT ALL. After committing to a three month review of the report in the Budget, the Government u-turned and accepted all the recommendations a few days later. This is the biggest, most radical change to nuclear regulation in British history.

Agency engine

Looking for Graffiti campaign launched a huge, viral campaign to clean up the graffiti on the London Underground.

The head of TfL smeared our volunteers as criminals. FOI requests revealed the head of TfL was wrong and asks him to say sorry to our volunteers. The video demanding his apology goes viral across social media platforms and rapidly expands our social media followings and mailing list.

Inspired by LFG's tube clean, our local chapters start cleans across the country, and even clean an entire village. LFG is building an agency engine of people across Britain who just want to change things for the better.

We have a network of over 22 chapters across the country, of extraordinary people giving up their time to fight decline:

Phone Theft Campaign Success

LFG and Crush Crime's persistent campaigning highlighted London's phone theft epidemic, despite Mayor Sadiq Khan initially dismissing it as "misinformation" and accusing campaigners of misleading the public.

After over a year of pressure, Khan announced a new "Command Cell" to target organised gangs behind the thefts, along with millions in funding for enforcement. This forced official acknowledgement and resource allocation to improve safety and tackle career criminals.

Infrastructure Bill

LFG launched with its own National Priority Infrastructure Bill. The proposed legislation received cross-party support and, two days later, an endorsement from The Times.

Four pillars of the bill are adopted by the government in their planning bill:

  • Fast tracks nuclear
  • Provides payments to people near construction
  • Creates an environmental fund
  • Limits judicial reviews

LFG crowd-funded and sent 1000 bills to MPs. MPs spoke about the Bill in Parliament.

LFG fought to make sure the Government did not water down their Planning & Infrastructure bill any further by giving in to the demands of a co-ordinated opposition lobby. The government backs down and does not water down the planning bill!
