But it’s still not finished. Only part of the approved route was built by the time it opened in 2014. On Thursday 10th September, the City of Edinburgh Council is set to decide whether to approve the route along the Roseburn path once more. This route offers quicker connections, and is cheaper than the alternative Orchard Brae route.

A small, organised group of people are against us. They claim it will “destroy” the path. But this is wrong. The proposals will still allow residents to safely walk and cycle on a path alongside the tramlines.

Every neighbourhood that the tram passes through would benefit from improved connectivity, supporting residents and businesses alike by giving more people easier and faster access to Edinburgh City Centre.

The people of Edinburgh know this. That’s why it has the support of residents in the local area.
