Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes is an area that is known for delivering radical changes and growth. It is one of the fastest growing cities in the UK, with a population growing by 2% per year and having the headquarters of the likes of Santander and Red Bull Racing. However, its success is catching up with it and not all growth is equal.

Surrounding areas seek to actively restrict development to "contain the spread" of the city, pushing up house prices. A major housing development of 4500 new homes in the Marston Vale, for instance, has been stuck in planning for 5 years. East-West connectivity needs to be radically improved, and while the Western Section of East-West Rail will shortly come online, better connections to Bedford, Cambridge, Oxford, and beyond are needed.

Furthermore, while the area has an active business community, it is not reaching its potential. Access to capital and opportunities to scale businesses are consistent challenges facing local companies.
